Bangladesh National cadet Corps (BNCC)
Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) is a Para-Military Defense force, a Tri-Services Organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force. BNCC is entrusted with the task of grooming the future leaders and finding the hidden potentials of youths. BNCC is an organization consisting of Defense services officers, Junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and Non-commissioned officers (NCOs) civilian officers & staffs, teaching staffs and students from different educational institutions. Ministry of Defense administratively controls this organization. Southern University has BNCC Army wing since 2003. Southern University platoon under Karnaphuli Battalion III. BNCC Delegation to India: BNCC Cadet Student of BBA, Sergeant Mohammed Jasim Uddin, visited India with a 9 members team from Bangladesh. He successfully completed all India Trekking Expedition- 2013” and training in India. Cadet Sergeant Jasim Uddin attended two Annual Training Exercises (ATE), five Capsule training camps, one Adventure camp in the remote hill track with Bangladesh Army, one Medical cadre training camp, one Fire Service and Civil Defense Training Camp under his captaincy at Southern University Bangladesh. Each year 30-36 cadets get opportunity to visit foreign countries as Youth Ambassador under the agreement between Bangladesh and concern country. Cadet Sergeant Jasim Uddin is the second person from Southern University Platoon after AKM Raju Ahmed who visited Maldives in 2006-07.
Leadership Training At Southern: The concluding ceremony about leadership training of BNCC held at Southern University recently(spring 2012). Honorable Member of Parliament Mrs. Mahjabin Morshed inaugurated the concluding ceremony as Chief Guest while Founder of the University Professor Sarwar Jahan, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sharifuzzman, Dean of Business, Registrar, Head of Business Administration Professor Dr. Ishrat Jahan, Professor Dr. Swakatul Maher was present among others.
Camp: Annual Training Exercise (ATE) Camp, 2014 /15 under Karnaphuli Regiment took place where the Cadets of Southern University has successfully completed their training program & was held in 27th December 2014 to 9th January 2015. There were seven numbers of Southern Cadets played a remarkable role while they took the training from Karnaphuli Regiment.
Iftar Party: Former BNCC cadet of Karnaphuli Regiment Association arranged an Iftar party at Southern University Bangladesh. Former student of Southern University Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd.) Mr. Tapan Mitra graced the event as Chief Guest while Prof. Dr. Shawkatul Meher of Business Administration was present as the special guest in the iftar party. The program was started with the recitation of the verses from the holy Quran. A discussion meeting on the significance of the holy Ramadan was held. Later a Doa mahfil was also held. Former and present cadets of the Karnaphuli Regiment were present in the party.(2011)
Pre- Commission Training at Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA)
PUO Atiqur Rahaman from Southern University BNCC Platoon has successfully completed the pre-commission training of Professor Under Officer Course- 12 (PUOC-12) at Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) from 23 April 2017 to 15 June 2017. He is the faculty member of Business Administration, Southern University Bangladesh.
